Senior QA Engineer

Project description:We don’t just build backend systems — we engineer living, breathing ecosystems of data for the life science industry. Picture a labyrinth of microservices, APIs whispering secrets, and data pipelines humming in the dark.

We need a QA Engineer who thrives on unraveling complex integrations and ensuring our backend components don’t go rogue. You’ll be the final line of defense between brilliant research tools and total chaos — a bug exorcist who knows when to run a smoke test and when to dig deep into the depths of integration.

Your Tasks:

• Design and execute smoke tests to keep releases from summoning production demons

• Build and maintain integration test suites across REST and event-driven APIs

• Automate repetitive test flows using scripts or frameworks (Python, Postman, or your weapon of choice)

• Collaborate with devs to break things early, before scientists ever see them

• Document findings with precision (no vague “it’s broken” tickets, please)

• Participate in sprint rituals, defect triage, and bug-hunting escapades

Requirements:

• 5+ years testing backend services or distributed systems in production environments

• Solid grasp of API testing, JSON, HTTP, and async workflows

• Experience with smoke testing, integration testing, and regression strategies

• Comfort with automation tools (Postman, pytest, Cypress, or similar)

• Git skills and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines

• Bonus points for: Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or taming flaky tests
