Product Owner - Integration Platform

Over the past three years, we’ve embarked on an ambitious digital transformation journey, focusing on customer-centricity and optimizing our IT services. As we continue to grow, we’re establishing a new team in Poland, and this role will be instrumental in shaping our expansion efforts.  

Position Overview:   

An Product Owner - Integration Platform is a strategic leader who guides the development and evolution of BWS enterprise integration platform, ensuring it meets business needs by creating a roadmap for new features, empowering development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practices in system integration. The Integrations Platform Owner is accountable for maximizing integration platform's value by balancing new development with operational stability and managing technical debt to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and support BWS's strategic goals​. This role requires deep understanding of the platform's technical aspects, a vision for its strategic use, and strong collaboration skills to work with various stakeholders like developers, analysts, and customers to deliver value and competitive advantage.  

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are a must-have.  

Responsibilities:  

• Platform Vision and Strategy: Develop and maintain a clear vision and strategic roadmap for the integration platform, aligning it with organizational goals and competitive advantage. 

• Product Development: Oversee the creation and delivery of new features, ensuring they meet business requirements and needs efficiently.  

• Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of integration projects, developing roadmaps, managing timelines, and ensuring alignment with project goals.  

• Technical Oversight: Work closely with technical teams, representing the team in design workshops, and helping to define integration strategies.  

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams and business representatives to gather requirements, prioritize features, and resolve issues.   

• Value Generation: Works closely with the product owners to maximize the value of the integrations platform for the products built on top of the platform​ 

• Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve and document integration processes, aiming to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness.  

• Governance and Standards: Implement organizational standards, policies, and procedures for the integration platform, ensuring full compliance and a consistent approach.  

• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the platform team, product teams and other business units, advocating for the platform's value and potential.  

• Support & Operations: Coordinate support for the ongoing deployment of integrated systems and assisting in regulatory support and audit activities.  

You are a good candidate if you have: 

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related studies, 

• Minimum of 8 years of IT experience and minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Product (Platform) Owner or similar role in a global and enterprise setup within integrations domain,  

• Sound understanding and experience with Digital Integration Platforms and their capabilities, 

• Expertise in modern integration technologies such as API management, event-driven architecture, IPaaS, and integration strategies, 

• Experience in an Agile environment, preferably functioning in a Product Team running Scrum or Kanban,  

• Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), 

• An entrepreneurial mindset and an ability to connect with internal and external audiences, including senior management, leaders and policy makers, 

• Experience managing budgets, roadmaps, value generation, and negotiations without authority, 

• Experience in a complex/multinational, multi-location, multi-partner and federated enterprise environment, 

• Demonstrable experience of product management techniques, value based prioritisation, risk management and supplier performance management, 

• Excellent written and verbal English,  

• Product Owner certification (PSPO, CPO) would be a plus.

Practical Details  

Blue Water Shipping is headquartered in Esbjerg Denmark and our IT development teams are in Esbjerg and Gdansk. The primary location for this role is the Blue Water Shipping’s office in Gdansk, Poland. There might be occasional travel to Esbjerg in Denmark or Warsaw.
