    For the past four years, we have been engaged in an ambitious digital transformation journey, continuing our customer centricity, and transitioning to a product-driven enterprise with professional optimized IT. To help us continue this journey and equip our organization to ensure top-notch IT service and support, we are now searching for an ambitious and experienced Manager for our Global IT Support team. 

     

    About the role 

    As Manager for Global IT Support at Blue Water Shipping, you will play a key role in strengthening and professionalizing our IT service delivery. Reporting to the Head of IT Operations, you will lead our global IT Support organization and be responsible for shaping and executing our IT Service and Support strategy. Your focus will be on ensuring high-quality, efficient, and user-centric support across the business. 

    A top priority will be to establish and grow a core support team in our Gdansk IT Hub while ensuring that critical support capabilities are firmly in place across our primary IT hubs in Denmark and Poland. This role is central to our broader digital transformation goals and offers a unique opportunity to influence how IT support is delivered in a global, modern logistics organization. 

     

    Your Responsibilities: 

    • Leading the development and implementation of IT Service and Support policies and procedures. 
    • Managing IT support incidents and leading initiatives to improve service delivery through continuous shift-left from our platform and product teams. 
    • Conducting regular service reviews and assessments to ensure continuous improvement. 
    • Aligning the organization with relevant IT service management standards and best practices. 
    • Continuously identifying opportunities for service improvement and taking proactive steps to implement them. 
    • Leading the team in adopting ITIL frameworks and driving the function towards increased automation and self-service. 
    • Working hands-on alongside the support team to deeply understand their challenges, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. 

     

    Your Background 

    We value your leadership and experience over formal education. The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and experience: 

    • Deep knowledge of IT Support and IT Service Management. 
    • Experience with ITIL frameworks, growing into a strategist level. 
    • Proven team leadership and people development skills. 
    • Competency in quality delivery and call center management. 
    • Technical acumen to maintain a broad understanding of the entire IT landscape. 
    • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships at all levels. 
    • Proficiency in risk management, incident response, and service policy development. 
    • Capability to communicate IT support concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
    • Fluency in English. 
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools, including Active Directory, access management, device management, and familiarity with ITSM and ITIL.

    Practicalities 

    Blue Water Shipping is headquartered in Esbjerg, Denmark. Blue Water IT is split across multiple locations, with the main locations being Esbjerg, Denmark, and our IT-Hub in Gdansk where this role will be placed. The IT-Hub in Gdansk has been created to support the ambitious Digital growth strategy that Blue Water shipping has embarked on towards 2030.
