System Owner – Learning & Development

Location: Remote (EMEA)Working Hours: Alignment with US/Canada time zones required (primarily afternoon–evening CET)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced System Owner to manage and evolve a complex Learning & Development (L&D) technology ecosystem. This role combines technical system ownership, architecture oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant learning solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in the Learning & Development technology market, understands the landscape of LMS/LXP platforms and vendors, and is comfortable working with global stakeholders across business and IT. Experience with pharmaceutical environments will be considered a significant advantage.

This position requires working closely with cloud vendors, internal technology teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the learning ecosystem effectively supports organizational learning and training operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Learning & Development technology ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.

• Provide technical oversight for Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), including platforms such as Cornerstone, EdCast, SAP SuccessFactors, and Administrate.

• Manage the lifecycle and integration of e-learning solutions, including Training Record Management Systems (TRMS) and training repositories.

• Ensure seamless interoperability between content authoring tools, content management platforms, and learning systems.

• Oversee the architecture, integration, and optimization of learning content delivery pipelines for both structured and unstructured learning content.

• Collaborate with cloud vendors and internal teams to ensure scalability, security, and performance of learning solutions.

• Own system lifecycle management, including operations, support, maintenance, release strategy, and deployment of changes.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, Computerized System Validation (CSV) guidelines, and Client's Project Management Methodology (PMM) for validated systems.

• Act as the single point of contact for system-related topics between business stakeholders and IT teams.

• Define and enforce security and compliance standards for learning and content platforms.

• Drive system enhancements, optimizations, and process improvements in collaboration with business and vendor teams.

• Manage change management processes related to system updates, new features, and vendor-driven changes.

• Support analytical work around systems performance, learning analytics, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with Learning & Development technologies and the L&D vendor ecosystem.

• Hands-on experience with LMS, LXP platforms, and training lifecycle management.

• Strong understanding of learning business capabilities, including:

  • course management

  • competency tracking

  • training compliance

  • content curation

  • training analytics and reporting

• Experience with configurable SaaS learning platforms, such as Cornerstone, EdCast, SAP SuccessFactors, or Administrate.

• Experience managing local and global learning systems landscapes.

• Strong analytical skills, including systems analysis and business process design.

• Experience in Agile SAFe environments, including work within Agile Release Trains and backlog refinement.

• Understanding of training content creation workflows and compliance tracking.

• Ability to lead a small team, manage vendor relationships, and drive technical initiatives.

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating learning ecosystems with Salesforce (SFDC).

• Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) best practices.

• Understanding of GxP documentation requirements in regulated environments.

• Experience working with knowledge management, training operations, or language services.

• Background as a Business Analyst working with learning systems or training platforms.

• Previous experience working with pharma industry.
