We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with German, who will design, implement, and maintain secure DevOps/DevSecOps solutions, while ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of systems and data. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to enhance automation, observability, and platform security at scale.
Responsibilities
Designing secure and scalable DevOps architectures aligned with program and compliance requirements.
Building CI/CD pipelines with integrated security scanning, validation, and compliance checks.
Implementing secure configurations, access controls, and encryption across systems and deployment workflows.
Automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, OpenTofu, or Ansible.
Operating and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes environments (GKE), including networking, RBAC, and runtime security.
Exposing security tools to developers through self-service interfaces and CI/CD integration.
Ensuring service availability through DR planning, incident response, backups, and continuous monitoring.
Automating creation of SBOMs/KBOMs and integrating them into build and release processes.
Performing vulnerability management, remediation planning, and environment hardening.
Maintaining and scaling GitLab, including HA setups, CI workloads, governance, and compliance.
Creating clear documentation, runbooks, guides, visual aids, and standardized knowledge materials.
Collaborating with teams to resolve issues, implement new features, and ensure secure and compliant operations.
Requirements
Proven experience delivering secure DevOps/DevSecOps solutions end‑to‑end.
Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes at scale (preferably GKE), including networking, storage, RBAC, and admission controllers.
Experience implementing container and runtime security in production environments.
Strong GitOps experience (Argo CD, FluxCD).
Advanced skills in IaC (Terraform or OpenTofu).
Expertise in integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong experience with Prometheus-based observability and advanced Grafana configurations.
Experience operating GitLab in complex, large-scale environments.
Solid understanding of network security, segmentation, encryption, and PKI.
Experience with vulnerability assessment, hardening, and compliance processes.
Familiarity with SBOM standards (CycloneDX), Trivy, Syft, Dependency‑Track, and DefectDojo.
Experience with GCP: GKE, IAM, workload identity, VPC networking, service controls.
Awareness of operational requirements in critical infrastructure environments.
Fluent English (min. B2) and fluent German (C1) — spoken and written.
