Data Platform Developer

Client: specialises in providing high-quality global geospatial and POI (Point of Interest) datasets, enriched with advanced machine learning to enable smarter business decisions. Their solutions cover mobility insights, audience segmentation, catchment and foot-traffic analysis across industries such as retail, AdTech/MarTech, FMCG, consulting and market research.

Position: Data Platform Developer

Location: 100% Remote

Employment Type: B2B - Full-time

Required Technical Skills:

• Very good knowledge of designing and building data platforms in cloud environments (preferably GCP).

• Experience in developing scalable, cloud-native data architectures for data integration, transformation, and activation.

• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially:

  • BigQuery

  • DataProc (Spark)

  • Iceberg

  • Spatial SQL

• Proficiency with big data tools and frameworks:

  • Apache Spark, PySpark

• Experience in building and maintaining batch and streaming pipelines and big data analytics platforms.

• Ability to work with real-time data processing and streaming architectures.

• Knowledge of Data Lakehouse design patterns and DataOps (quality, lineage, security).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with CI/CD for data solutions and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).

• Experience in monitoring and reliability of data platforms.

• Experience with Apache Sedona and AWS services.

Education & Experience:

• Higher technical education (preferred: computer science, data engineering, mathematics, data analytics or related fields).

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Data Platform Engineer / Data Engineer / Big Data Engineer.

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments (telecommunications industry experience is a plus).
