Database Engineer (Banking)

We are seeking an experienced Database Engineer with solid technical skills, as well as good interpersonal and communication skills in an international environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operational support for MS SQL Server instances and other components like Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services

• Manage SQL Servers on premise and in Cloud (Azure IaaS/Managed Instance/PaaS)

• Ensuring availability and consistent performance of corporate applications

• Monitoring of backup, replication, performance

• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

• Share knowledge and expertise with other team members

• Provide on-call support in rotation with other team members

Requirements:

• 5+ years with MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, and cloud (both IaaS and PaaS ideally).

• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools

• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server

• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory

• Ansible knowledge

• Experience supporting enterprise or banking systems
