We are looking for a Software Engineer!

As a Software Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate in a small team consisting of 3-5 engineers of different expertise levels.

• Build services using AWS cloud components and our Internal Developer Platform.

• Apply Composable Architecture principles by building API templates, SDKs, reusable services for whole Customer Engagement Platform.

• Provide technical analysis for business requirements of medium complexity.

• Propose implementation approaches to code, test, and document programs or scripts of medium complexity, using the given standards, patterns, security best practices and various tools.

• Implement solutions according to the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.

• Enrich team solutions with artifacts that help developers code faster using AI coding assistants.

• Identify, locate, and fix faults.

• Maintain team product portfolio to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Fluent in English.

• Basic experience with Composable Architecture principles, especially API-first strategies.

• Previous experience working in teams using agile practices or frameworks such as Scrum, XP, or Kanban.

• Strong familiarity with TypeScript (Node.js/Bun) for service and library development, and Python for library and component development.

• Experience with strongly typed languages such as C#, Java, or Kotlin, and shell scripting is a plus

• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development using GitHub.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions.

• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration solutions like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of static analysis tools like SonarQube, CodeQL is a plus.

• Exposure to monitoring and observability solutions like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Amazon CloudWatch is a plus.

• Experience developing RESTful APIs, including deployment as AWS Lambda functions and via AWS API Gateway.

• Knowledge of API specification and documentation using OpenAPI and Swagger.

• Experience with various database and integration technologies, especially AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and AWS Glue.

• Understanding of automated software testing and best practices.

• Experience with message queues and transport systems such as Amazon SQS, Amazon Kinesis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
