We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer!

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be a part of Bayer's Customer Engagement Team. You will work on improving our 'System and Data Integration Capabilities'.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain technical responsibility for all the stages and iterations of a software development project
• Provide technical advice to stakeholders and set the team-based standards for programming tools and techniques
• Select appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, and ensure they are applied effectively
• Review the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology
• Define the integration build
• Co-ordinate build activities across systems
• Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered with mitigation of security threats as a core feature.
• Establish design patterns and iterate them
• Prioritize and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so
• Manage service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance targets

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 7+ years experience as a software engineer
• Excellent experience with Composable Architecture principals, especially on an API first strategy.
• Excellent experience in working in an agile team using Scrum or Kanban.
• Proven experience in leading and managing software development teams and guiding them on proper usage of development platforms like Git, Github and Backstage
• Excellent experience in the programming language Python and/or JavaScript (nodejs) and Unix shell scripting using bash and/or zsh, former experience in other languages is a plus.
• Excellent experience in software version control using Git, good knowledge of collaboration in software development via Github.
• Excellent knowledge of API development with focus on AWS Lambda functions and API Gateway building RESTful APIs.
• Excellent experience in API specification & documentation with focus on OpenAPI and Swagger.
• Good knowledge in using different database technologies for software development with special focus on AWS DynamoDB, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Good knowledge in using and operating a test-driven development using s framework like PyTest and API Test methodologies.
• Good experience with building orchestration workflows using AWS step functions and Apache Airflow.
• Good experience in developing streaming integration solutions, especially with focus on Kafka and AWS Kinesis.
