Data Governance Analyst
As part of our ongoing effort to improve the accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of information assets, we are establishing a formal Data Governance capability. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Data Governance Analyst to implement and embed data governance practices across the organization.
You will join the IT Compliance team located in Wiener Neustadt (Austria) and work closely with business and IT functions to ensure that AvaFin’s data is accurate, consistent, and well controlled.
This is a hands‑on coordination role suited to a detail‑oriented person who enjoys bringing structure and clarity to how data is managed.
Our IT Department, which is based in Wiener Neustadt, is part of an international Fintech company which provides short and long-term consumer loans in 5 countries within and outside of Europe. With our own platform and websites, we provide an entirely digital lending process so we can guarantee a cashflow to the consumer within only a couple of minutes.
Job title description:
Contribute to the establishment of data governance policies, processes, standards, and controls
Drive implementation of procedures and controls related to the defined policies, processes, and standards across the organization
Be the key liaison for data governance control
Educate and provide guidance and support to stakeholders on their responsibilities regarding data governance
Facilitate collaboration and cooperation with stakeholders to achieve data governance objectives
Quantify and measure data governance adoption and adherence by the business, including suggesting and taking remedial action where required
Collaborate with IT Compliance Team Lead to plan and deliver specific projects, initiatives or pilots
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience or academic background in data management, governance, or related analytics/ compliance area
Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK principles
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as RDARR and GDPR
Basic experience with a data governance or metadata tools (Collibra experience is an advantage)
Proven experience in writing skills, with the ability to create requirements, specifications and other documentation
Experience in stakeholder management at all levels
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
Knowledge of data and analytics within the finance or banking industry will be considered advantage
Fluency in English (communication with an international team)
