Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Storage Engineer to join a technology-driven infrastructure team. In this role, you will contribute both to day-to-day storage operations and to project-based initiatives, working with modern, enterprise-grade storage technologies.

You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of storage platforms while continuously exploring and implementing new solutions in cooperation with leading technology vendors. The position requires strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and openness to new challenges in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Project Context

The team operates within a large-scale, enterprise IT environment supporting critical business systems. The focus is on high-availability storage platforms, SAN infrastructures, and virtualized storage environments.

The role combines operational responsibility with engineering and project work, including testing and onboarding of new storage technologies, lifecycle management of existing platforms, and continuous improvements to performance, reliability, and security.

You will work closely with infrastructure, virtualization, backup, and application teams in a collaborative, international setting.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Engineering & Innovation

• Engineer and maintain enterprise storage solutions, leveraging leading-edge technologies

• Test and evaluate new storage platforms and features in cooperation with industry-leading vendors

• Contribute to the design and evolution of storage architectures

Operations & Reliability

• Perform daily storage operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution

• Ensure high availability, performance, and capacity planning across storage environments

• Participate in on-call or operational support rotations when required

Project & Change Management

• Participate in infrastructure and migration projects related to storage platforms

• Implement changes in line with internal standards, security policies, and best practices

• Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives

Collaboration

• Work as a team player within cross-functional infrastructure teams

• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and technical teams

• Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of collaboration and ownership

Technical Requirements (Must Have)

• Experience working with Unix and Linux operating systems

• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage and virtual storage technologies

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following storage platforms:

  • NetApp ONTAP

  • Hitachi Storage / Hitachi HNAS (or equivalent NAS solutions)

  • IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC)

• Knowledge of SAN technologies, including:

  • Brocade SAN switches

  • Cisco MDS SAN switches (nice to have)

• Solid general technical understanding of infrastructure environments

• Very good communication skills in a technical environment

• Strong team-oriented mindset, curiosity, openness to learning, and willingness to go the extra mile when needed
