Senior BI / Data Engineer (Snowflake, Tableau)

Responsibilities

• Resolve a monthly volume of minor bugs, ensuring full traceability, proper documentation, and compliance using tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.

• Optimize Snowflake and Alteryx data pipelines by reducing technical debt (duplications, performance bottlenecks, obsolete artifacts) to improve overall system robustness and maintainability.

• Lead the migration of Alteryx ETLs to Snowflake (job scheduling, rewriting logic in SQL/PySpark within Snowflake).

• Transform ETL logic from batch-based active polling to change data capture (CDC) and event-driven / reactive streaming approaches.

• Maintain and enhance dashboards by ensuring performance, stability, business readability, and adherence to data visualization best practices and internal standards.

• Implement automated regression testing and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable deployments, improved data quality coverage, and secure releases within a DevOps framework.

• Provide realistic effort estimates and collaborate effectively with Data Engineers and BI developers.

• Communicate technical concepts clearly and maintain high-quality internal documentation.

Must Have

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Engineering / BI / Data Platform roles.

• Previous experience working in a regulated / GxP environment.

• Strong SQL skills.

• Experience with Snowflake (preferred) or Databricks.

• Experience with ETL tools (Alteryx preferred; dbt is a strong advantage).

• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and data modeling.

• Experience with version control systems (Git – GitLab or GitHub preferred).

• Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube).

• Proven Tableau expertise or strong willingness to learn.

• Ability to work in SLA-driven environments.

• Strong self-organization, time management, and prioritization skills.

• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have

• Experience in incident response and ITSM/ITIL environments.

• Knowledge of data governance and data management tools (Collibra preferred, Monte Carlo, Immuta).

• User-level experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.

• Polish language proficiency (strong advantage).
