We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Scala & Apache Spark (or Java & Spark) to support the modernization of a data processing platform within the C-Profit domain.The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions that consolidate and process transactional data related to investment banking financial products.The ideal candidate combines solid data engineering skills with a craftsmanship mindset, strong service quality orientation, and the ability to work in a complex banking environment with high data volumes and critical business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and define backend technical solutions and architecture for data processing platforms

• Develop and maintain scalable data feeds and batch/stream processing pipelines using Spark

• Implement data usage solutions, including data retrieval, transformation, and exposure through datasets and datamarts

• Support the migration and modernization of existing backend systems, including code review and technical adaptations during lift & shift migration to Azure

• Ensure scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services with a strong focus on service quality

• Apply continuous improvement practices, including Craft & Prod CI methodologies

• Monitor code quality and ensure compliance with engineering best practices

• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and production support

• Collaborate closely with feature teams responsible for backend, data processing, UI, and API layers

Required Qualifications

• 3–8 years of professional experience with Scala & Apache Spark or Java & Spark

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex data processing challenges

• Hands-on experience in backend or data engineering within large-scale systems

• Service quality–oriented mindset with strong attention to reliability and maintainability

• Good understanding of software craftsmanship principles and engineering best practices

• Experience working in on-premise environments (no public cloud entry threshold required)

• Very good command of English (C1 level)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with banking or financial systems, especially investment banking data

• Familiarity with Big Data ecosystems and distributed data processing architectures

• Experience with CI pipelines, code quality monitoring, and production-grade data platforms

• Exposure to cloud environments (Azure) in migration or hybrid scenarios
