Data Architect

Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing data architecture in Azure and Databricks environments

• Participating in a complex migration to Unity Catalog — infrastructure, pipelines, frameworks, standards

• Migrating and modernizing ETL/ELT processes, including DLT, Python/SQL jobs, and Synapse/ADF pipelines

• Designing and implementing Data Lakehouse solutions and Medallion architecture

• Optimizing data processing workflows and code (Python, SQL, Spark)

• Creating CI/CD processes and automation in Azure DevOps

• Implementing standards for logging, monitoring, and data quality

• Leading the project team from a technical perspective (Lead Engineer role)

• Collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions

• Documenting solutions and mentoring other team members

• Migrating all data layers (landing, raw, prepared, reporting, services) from Hive Metastore to UC

• Migrating DLT (Delta Live Tables) and Python/SQL jobs in Databricks

• Migrating pipelines in Azure Synapse/ADF

• Rebuilding and adapting metadata frameworks

• Standardizing access, lineage, governance, and the overall Lakehouse structure

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure: data infrastructure, networking, authorization, cloud environment design

• Experience with Azure Synapse (especially Synapse Serverless and Synapse Pipelines)

• Strong expertise in Databricks: DLT (Delta Live Tables), Workflows, workspace administration

• Ability to design Data Lakehouse architecture and familiarity with Medallion Architecture and Metadata-Driven ETL

• Very good knowledge of Python and experience with code optimization

• Experience with Apache Spark — designing and developing data processing workflows

• Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization and experience with SQL Server

• Experience in building ETL/ELT processes and designing data warehouses following best practices

• Ability to create and implement CI/CD processes (Azure DevOps, Git, branching strategy)

• Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and optimizing data processes

• Familiarity with Power BI and the ability to work with reporting/analytics

• Strong communication skills, ability to create documentation, and willingness to share knowledge

• Experience in the Lead Engineer role (team leadership, technical decision-making, stakeholder collaboration)

• Knowledge of English (min.B2+)
