Technical Business Analyst – Finance IT📍 Location: Kraków, hybrid ( 2xweek from office)🕒 Full-time
We are a global technology team supporting the Markets & Securities Services division of a leading investment bank. Our systems enable trading across multiple asset classes — from low-latency trading applications to large-scale Microservices platforms. Within this structure, Finance IT is a specialized group focused on delivering independent Front Office and Risk model reviews, as well as Profit and Loss analysis tools that support Product Control and Market Risk Management.
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Business Analyst to join our global team. You will work closely with technical leads, developers, and business stakeholders across Poland, the UK, India, and China. The team is responsible for designing and delivering strategic analysis and reporting systems for Product Control.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between Product Control and development teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
Translate complex business needs into detailed technical specifications.
Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to upskill technical teams on Product Control processes and financial concepts.
Create and maintain thorough documentation, including process flows, glossaries, and FAQs.
Facilitate regular feedback loops to improve understanding and delivery quality.
Support business users and investigate data discrepancies.
Contribute to the strategic vision and design of systems aligned with the target architecture.
Collaborate on development challenges and solution design with the global team.
Required Skills and Experience:
Business Analysis
Strong experience in eliciting, documenting, and managing business requirements (e.g., user stories).
Proficiency in process modelling and workflow analysis (e.g., UML diagrams).
Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
Product Control Expertise
Deep understanding of financial instruments (e.g., derivatives, equities, fixed income, FX).
Hands-on experience with P&L analysis, valuation, and financial reporting.
Familiarity with the trade lifecycle, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., TWD).
Technical Skills
Solid knowledge of SQL for data analysis and querying.
Understanding of data modelling, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing.
Basic scripting/programming experience (e.g., Python) is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel.
Communication & Collaboration
Strong facilitation and presentation skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
Experience running stakeholder interviews, cross-functional meetings, and training sessions.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Project & Delivery Focus
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness
Understanding of key regulations affecting Product Control and Market Risk functions.
