Principal Network Security Engineer (Proxy & Remote Access)

Area: Cybersecurity / Network SecurityLocation: Poland , Kraków or Warszawa | 2 x per week from office B2B contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Network Security Engineer (Proxy & Remote Access) to join a global cybersecurity team. In this role, you will act as a technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing solutions related to internet content filtering and secure remote access.

You will provide subject matter expertise, technical leadership, and project delivery support, helping to strengthen network security controls across a large, complex organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business and IT initiatives to ensure network security requirements are met

• Design and implement solutions in areas such as:

  • Proxy technologies (on-premise and SaaS / SASE)

  • Remote access solutions (VPN, VDI, ZTNA)

• Identify security risks and control gaps, and recommend improvements

• Analyze network and security data (e.g., logs) to support decision-making

• Lead and deliver cybersecurity projects end-to-end

• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and stakeholders

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical leadership to team members

• Represent Network Security in complex, large-scale initiatives

Requirements (Must-have)

• Strong expertise in:

  • Network architecture and network security

  • Firewalls, segmentation, and micro-segmentation

  • Proxy and content filtering technologies

  • Remote access technologies (VPN, VDI, ZTNA)

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity threats and risk management

• Experience analyzing system and network data

• Proven experience leading technical projects

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

• Experience working in regulated environments is a strong advantage

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Cybersecurity

• Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNA, CCIE)

• Scripting skills (Python, Perl, or similar)

• Knowledge of cloud security concepts

• Experience with SOC / SIEM tools

• Familiarity with Agile / DevOps and ITSM practices
