For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for a:

Principal Engineer – Web Application Security

📍 Location: Kraków (prefered) or Warsaw
🏠 Work model: Hybrid (6 days per month onsite)
💰 Rate: 200–230 PLN/h B2B

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Web Application Security Engineer to join a team responsible for developing and maintaining advanced Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions. This role is crucial in designing, testing, and implementing security policies for web applications and APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze logs and identify false positives
• Implement and fine-tune WAF rules across various environments
• Collaborate with application and security teams
• Create technical documentation and reports
• Monitor protection effectiveness and recommend improvements
• Participate in security reviews and audits

Requirements:

• Proven experience with WAF solutions (preferred: Akamai, F5, AWS, GCP)
• Strong skills in log analysis and anomaly detection
• Familiarity with tools like Splunk, Wireshark
• Background in SOC or CSIRT environments
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams
• Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Python, Terraform, JIRA automation) is a plus
