Job description

Andersen is hiring a System Engineer (Voice) in Europe to support a large-scale digital transformation, working on telecommunications, cloud platforms, and AI-driven solutions for global digital services. 

 

The customer is a large international technology company operating in the digital infrastructure and connectivity domain, providing telecommunications, cloud platforms, and advanced IT services for consumer and enterprise clients. The organization focuses on next-generation networks, cloud-native architectures, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, working with complex distributed systems, and continuously modernizing core services to support global digital transformation. 

 

The project is a large-scale digital transformation initiative with a high volume of parallel projects, focused on building and evolving web and e-commerce platforms, AI-enabled features, and data-driven digital solutions within a dynamic, multi-team environment. 

 

Responsibilities: 

- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues related to voice communication systems (e.g., call quality, connectivity, latency, and system outages). 

- Proactively monitoring the performance and health of voice networks using specialized tools to identify potential bottlenecks or problems before they impact users.  

- Performing regular, scheduled maintenance, updates, and patching of equipment and software. 

- Providing expert support from a remote (offshore) location. 

- Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of all incidents, troubleshooting steps, configurations, and resolutions.  

- Participating in post-incident reviews (Root Cause Analysis) to prevent recurrence and improve future processes. 

- Assisting with the planning, testing, and implementation of new voice system features, upgrades, or integrations with existing IT infrastructure (e.g., email, CRM, network security). 

- Providing guidance and training to junior staff or end-users on voice system functionality, new procedures, and best practices. 

- Implementing and maintaining security protocols (firewalls, access controls) and ensuring all voice systems comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. 

 

Must-haves: 

- Experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role for 3+ years. 

- Expertise in system administration of Session Border Controllers (SBC), ideally with the vendor AudioCodes. 

- Deep knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, H.323), PBX and Unified Communication (UC) platforms (e.g., Cisco Call Manager, Avaya), network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, QoS), and relevant operating systems. 

- General understanding of common protocols such as SIP, RTP, TCP, UDP, etc. 

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to quickly diagnose complex issues under pressure. 

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clients, and vendors. 

- Level of English – from Advanced and above. 

 

Nice-to-haves: 

- Knowledge of German. 

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone. 

- Experience working in a service desk environment with a high level of customer orientation. 

- Technical expertise in telephony (e.g., Cisco, Mitel, Avaya). 

- Scripting experience with PowerShell. 

- Troubleshooting skills in telephony and network environments. 

- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
