Java Developer

Andersen is hiring a Java Engineer in Germany. The role supports building modern digital platforms for public service and education, improving accessibility, streamlining processes, and enhancing user-focused experiences. 

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The company focuses on IT consulting, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed operations, supporting clients across various industries with complex digital transformation needs. With decades of experience, the customer emphasizes innovation, reliability, and high security standards. 

The project is focused on delivering digital platforms for the Public Service and Education domains, enabling modernization, improved accessibility, and efficient management of core processes. It supports government and educational institutions by enhancing service delivery, streamlining administration, and strengthening citizen- and student-focused digital experiences. 

Responsibilities: 

• Developing and implementing software components, applications, tools and system modules in accordance with organizational standards and project requirements. 

• Performing fault analysis, debugging and troubleshooting across existing systems and contribute to stabilization and continuous improvement activities. 

• Integrating systems, applications, services and databases, ensuring interoperability, data consistency and compliance with architectural guidelines. 

• Applying suitable development languages, scripting tools, frameworks and methodologies according to the technical landscape of the Ordering Party. 

• Preparing and documenting operational requirements, system performance parameters and system configuration specifications. 

• Collaborating closely with infrastructure, network and architecture teams to support seamless system and network integration. 

• Using appropriate integration tools, patterns and processes to connect heterogeneous platforms and ensure reliable data and service exchange. 

• Contributing code reviews, technical documentation and quality assurance activities. 

• In agile projects, working as an active member of a Scrum Team with a solid understanding of Scrum ceremonies, artefacts and development workflows. 

Must-haves: 

• Commercial development experience as a Java Developer for 3+ years. 

• Strong knowledge and experience with Java 11+, Spring, Spring Boot. 

• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure. 

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes containerization technology. 

• Experience with SQL/NoSQL DB. 

• Confident knowledge and experience with microservice architecture. 

• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above. 

• Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above. 

Nice-to-haves: 

• Experience with Kafka.
