Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer to enhance a business-critical SaaS platform for insurance analytics, coordinating the team and improving delivery processes.
The customer is a global professional services company specializing in consulting, risk management, and business solutions. Operating across international markets, it helps clients improve efficiency, manage challenges, and implement strategic initiatives. The project is centered on enhancing a business-critical SaaS platform used for real-time actuarial calculations, modeling, and insurance analytics. The solution powers key workflows for end users, requiring high reliability, performance, and continuous functional evolution to support complex insurance and risk-modeling operations.
Responsibilities:
Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable asynchronous APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask.
Working hands-on with SQL (PostgreSQL), NoSQL, and in-memory stores like Redis to support diverse application needs.
Integrating and optimizing vector databases (e.g., OpenSearch, MongoDB) for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) use cases.
Implementing and fine-tuning solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI and Amazon Bedrock.
Utilizing frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph to orchestrate advanced language model workflows.
Deploying and managing applications on AWS services, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
Building and maintaining automated pipelines with GitLab CI/CD for continuous integration and delivery.
Must-haves:
Experience in data engineering for 4+ years.
Proven experience working with Azure Cosmos DB, including data modeling, partitioning, indexing, query optimization, and throughput management.
Strong hands-on experience with SQL-based databases such as Azure SQL or SQL Server, including schema design, performance tuning, and data migration.
Solid experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines, preferably in Azure.
Practical experience with Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure Functions or other serverless data processing tools.
Ability to work independently and execute short-term PoC initiatives with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to data engineering and cloud architecture.
Clear and concise communication skills, including the ability to present PoC findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
