Job description

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (.NET) in the EU to build and evolve cloud-based core banking and card systems, delivering scalable, reliable backend services and new functionality. 

 

The customer is an international organization providing digital financial solutions across multiple markets. It develops online services that support everyday financial interactions, focusing on ease of use, reliability, and scalable delivery. The organization works with different types of clients and partners, continuously improving its digital capabilities and adapting its solutions to evolving market needs. 

 

The project is focused on backend development for core banking and card-related systems, delivering new features, and evolving a cloud-based backend architecture to support scalable and reliable banking services. 

 

Responsibilities: 

- Designing and developing backend services using C# and .NET (.NET Core/.NET 8). 

- Implementing new features based on business flows and evolving requirements. 

- Applying DDD principles in backend design and feature development. 

- Participating in systems following CQRS and modular architecture approaches. 

- Using Dependency Injection and clean code practices. 

- Writing unit tests and contributing to automated test coverage. 

- Analyzing, debugging, and optimizing existing functionality. 

- Developing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions. 

- Collaborating closely with QA engineers during development and testing. 

- Using Git within a structured branching and code-review workflow. 

- Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and team discussions. 

- Communicating effectively in English with developers, QA, and business stakeholders. 

 

Must-have: 

- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core/.NET 8 for 5+ years. 

- Experience in banking, payments, or financial services. 

- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning. 

- Practical experience with unit testing and automated test coverage. 

- Good understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD). 

- Understanding of CQRS and its practical use cases. 

- Strong knowledge of Dependency Injection and inversion of control. 

- Experience designing or working with modular or microservices-oriented systems. 

- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and pipelines. 

- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (boards, repos, pipelines). 

- Confident use of Git and Git best practices. 

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. 

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 

- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above. 

 

Nice-to-Haves: 

- Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions. 

- Experience with event-driven architecture. 

- Knowledge of Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash). 

- Experience with enterprise scheduling tools (e.g. Automic). 

- Exposure to ESB/integration platforms (IBM IIB or similar).
