AI Engineer

Andersen is hiring an AI Engineer in Germany to design and integrate scalable AI systems, supporting a major digital-transformation program and enabling modern, reliable AI-driven services. 

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The company focuses on IT consulting, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed operations, supporting clients across various industries with complex digital-transformation needs. With decades of experience, the customer emphasizes innovation, reliability, and high security standards. 

The project is part of a large European digital transformation initiative aimed at integrating advanced AI into mission-critical systems. The team focuses on building scalable AI solutions, modernizing legacy architectures, and ensuring reliable deployment to support next-generation public and private sector services. 

Responsibilities: 

• Designing, developing and maintaining AI/ML components, including model pipelines, inference services and data processing modules. 

• Building and integrating GenAI or LLM-based features into applications, ensuring scalability and reliability. 

• Implementing and optimizing RAG pipelines, vector search workflows and embedding-based retrieval. 

• Fine-tuning, evaluating and deploying AI models using modern frameworks and training techniques (e.g., LoRA/QLoRA). 

• Developing APIs and integration points for serving AI models in production environments. 

• Implementing monitoring, logging and performance optimization for AI inference workloads. 

• Preparing and validating datasets, performing feature engineering and maintaining data quality for model training. 

• Collaborating with architects, analysts and software engineers to translate business needs into technical AI solutions. 

• Ensuring compliance with organizational standards, documentation practices and reproducibility requirements. 

• Supporting CI/CD and MLOps workflows for deploying, testing and updating AI models. 

Must-haves: 

• Hands-on Python development for 7+ years. 

• Strong experience with modern AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX). 

• Practical experience building and deploying LLM-based or GenAI applications. 

• Experience with model fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT) and embedding models. 

• Knowledge of vector databases. 

• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, retrieval systems and prompt engineering. 

• Experience integrating AI models into production systems (REST, gRPC, FastAPI). 

• Familiarity with model serving technologies. 

• Experience with data processing and feature engineering (Pandas, NumPy, Spark optional). 

• Good understanding of MLOps practices, CI/CD for ML, experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights & Biases). 

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployment of AI services. 

• Knowledge of cloud platforms for AI workloads (AWS/GCP/Azure). 

• Understanding of basic NLP/ML concepts: tokenization, embeddings, transformers, evaluation metrics. 

• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above. 

• Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above.
