DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are developing a modern multi‑sided education platform (self‑service, automated, AI‑ready) for a leading European organization. To support this initiative, we are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer skilled in GCP, Kubernetes, and GitOps-driven environments.

You will design and maintain cloud infrastructure, build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensure highly reliable Kubernetes‑based deployments, and strengthen the platform’s observability, security, and automation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform.

• Operate Kubernetes workloads on GKE with GitOps (Argo CD + Kustomize).

• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for a monorepo (Nx + pnpm).

• Improve container images, registries, and security hardening.

• Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and alerting.

• Support PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka/Redpanda environments.

• Automate operational tasks using Bash and Python.

Requirements

• Strong experience with GCP, particularly GKE, IAM/Workload Identity, VPC networking, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Artifact Registry, and Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL).

• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, networking, RBAC, resource management, and troubleshooting.

• Hands-on experience with GitOps, especially Argo CD (rollbacks, App of Apps) and Kustomize.

• Proficiency in CI/CD engineering, monorepos, build/test/release pipelines, Docker artefact publishing, and SBOM generation.

• Solid background in containerization (Docker multi‑stage, slim images, hardening).

• Experience with observability: Prometheus, Grafana, alerting based on SLO/SLI, structured logs, centralized logging (Loki/ELK).

• Practical skills with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka/Redpanda.

• Strong understanding of security standards: OIDC/OAuth2, JWT, secrets management, Pod Security, NetworkPolicies, image scanning.

• Good knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, and basic Python for automation.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: HTTP/TCP, health/readiness probes, circuit breaking, mTLS basics.
