Senior Java Scala Developer

Working hours: till 9:00 PM CET (collaboration with US team)

We are looking for Senior Java Scala Developer for our customer which is an online marketplace connecting people who want to rent out their homes with people looking for accommodations in specific locales. Together with them, we are building a world-class payments platform that moves billions of dollars, in 191 countries, with 75 currencies, through a complex ecosystem of payments partners. They are also reinventing how to serve users to improve performance, scalability and extensibility. 

Responsibilities:

• Apply best practices from previous industry experience, whilst adhering to our own engineering principles of writing high quality, secure code that is modular, functional and testable 
• Generate ideas with other team members and offer insightful solutions 
• Attend meetings with clients and peers 
• Provide our customers with support & guidelines for developing their applications 
• Collaborate in all stages of development from requirement discussions with the Product Owner to the deployment of the feature in the cloud

And if you possess...

• At least 4: years experience with Java AND Scala
• 5+ years of experience with service-oriented architectures and developing large-scale distributed systems 
• Passion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing 
• Experience leading project teams and setting technical direction collaborating with product and other functional teams  
• Experience with platform architecture patterns and best practices. 
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
