DevOps Engineer

Workplace: Kraków, required office visits twice a week

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

System Monitoring and Incident Response

• Implement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance our systems and services.

• Respond promptly to incidents troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and impact on customers.

Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management

• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline the deployment and configuration of infrastructure components.

• Implement infrastructure as code principles to ensure consistency, reliability and scalability across environments.

Capacity planning and Performance Optimisations

• Analyse system performance metrics and trends to identify potentials bottlenecks and scalability limitations.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise systems performance and resource utilisation through capacity planning and performance tuning.

Reliability Engineering Best Practice

• Adhere to reliability best practices and methodologies within the organisation.

• Drive initiatives to improve system reliability, fault tolerance and disaster recovery capabilities.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Software Engineers, Devops engineering team, other stakeholders to define and implement reliability requirements for new and existing services.

• Participate in design and code reviews and incident post-mortems to ensure continuous improvement and learning.

WHAT DO WE REQUIRE?

• 5+ years experience in Devops role with a focus on reliability engineering and CI/CD

• Knowledge and experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Design and implementation of CICD pipelines for on-prem and cloud environments using Jenkins and groovy

• Supporting and troubleshooting Java and Apache Spark applications.

• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation using Python and Bash.

• Solid understanding of cloud computing platforms (preferably GCP) and experience with IaC tools (Terraform)

• Extensive experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana.

• Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and business domain.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams located remotely.

Desired Experience

• Knowledge of Financial Risk management in banking or financial industry

• Knowledge specific to the Traded Risk domain

• Knowledge of OLAP and ETL

Essential Technologies:

• Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Python, Bash, Groovy, terraform, Helm, Docker, Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus, Spark

• Application monitoring and test automation best practice and tools

• Working with API and micro service technologies

• Databases (PostgreSQL,Columnar Databases)

• Cloud technologies: (GCP)
