About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Datasecurity Engineering SME with deep expertise in Data Discovery and Encryption technologies. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data security solutions to protect sensitive information, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce cybersecurity risks. The ideal candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), collaborating with global teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and effective security controls in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of Data Security controls, including Data Discovery and Encryption solutions.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to define and execute security strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with global and regional security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, NIST, CIS).
Monitor and improve the effectiveness of security controls, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders, guiding them on data protection best practices.
Drive innovation in data security processes and technologies to address emerging threats.
Support incident response, change management, and service continuity processes.
Build strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
4–5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or IT, with a focus on Data Security.
Hands-on experience with Data Discovery and Encryption technologies (experience with Protegrity, Symantec/Broadcom Data Discovery, or Veritas Data Insight is a plus).
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, GDPR).
Experience in IT Service Management (ITIL), particularly in Change, Incident, and Service Continuity Management.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Security certifications (CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) are an advantage.
