Create frameworks and applications for our internal customers
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test. You will have opportunity to join a small scrum team and work in a fast-paced environment. With the primary aim of developing various tools and frameworks for other teams. Working with a large scale and distributed environment, looking at the performance and functionality. You will use agile methodologies and Python tech stacks to develop exceptional testing frameworks.
As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:
- Providing services that other Akamai QA and Dev teams use to reduce and accelerate their manual work
- Automating company’s critical processes impacting all Akamai servers running across the world
- Striving for innovation in order to reduce manual work
- Building new tools from concept to delivery
- Choosing and creating tools that are most appropriate for Akamai
- Applying modern approaches to creating and running distributed systems using containerization and High Availability architecture
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Be experienced with object-oriented programming and test-driven development in Python
- Show experience with Flask or any other Python web framework
- Be comfortable with working in a Linux/Unix-like environment
- Be highly analytical with an ability to investigate and curate complex information
- Demonstrate understanding of Quality Assurance
- Show understanding of contemporary DevOps practices
- Be familiar with the Internet, including technologies and fundamental protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP and HTTP
