Head of Databases and Middleware

In the Development & IT department, we are responsible for the development, support, maintenance and operation of Adform Flow. Our most important responsibility is to deliver a stable and competitive product to our clients.  We do that by putting client value in focus, our success is predicated on the success and happiness of our clients, both internally and externally. 

Data Services Team is a part of Adform‘s DEV & IT department located in Warsaw and Vilnius. We work closely with the Cloud Services, Datacenter & Network, and Security teams, as well as the DevOps Group. Together, we ensure that our global infrastructure operates with the highest availability, scalability, reliability, and security. Our services support clients and stakeholders by ensuring a stable Adform platform. At the same time, we continuously improve the infrastructure to meet Adform’s product development goals.

• Drive and deliver database and middleware technical roadmap 

• Partner with architects to ensure right DB or/and MW technologies are selected for certain projects 

• Maintain and build strong delivery culture in the team; nurture and grow strong engineering talent 

• Create and mediate environment to establish transparency and information flow within team 

• Ensure that people are motivated, engaged and collaborate across the organization 

• Oversee operational expenses of the team (examples: business trips, education, offsites, etc.) 

• Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, including contract management, pricing negotiations, and ensuring delivery meets Adform’s standards 

Attitude First. Everything else will follow. We can grow together faster if you have: 

• Passion for database and middleware technology and experience delivering engineering initiatives 

• Practical experience with at least 3 - 4 major database technologies from our ecosystem (e.g., MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Aerospike, Vertica, Hadoop). 

• Previous experience with Linux environments (e.g., CentOS, Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu, or other open-source distributions) 

• Incident, problem, change management experience (e.g., ITIL) 

• Some knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible) 

• An extensive experience in leading software or infrastructure engineering teams 

• Knowledge and experience working under Agile methodologies   

• Fluency in verbal and written English
