About the Project
For our Client - a global container liner shipping company we are looking for a Solution Architect – Kafka to join our Central Messaging Platform team in Gdańsk! The team focuses on providing a central event/message hub based on Apache Kafka to support our large-scale migration to a modern, event-driven architecture.
Work Mode: Hybrid work from Gdańsk (frequency to be determined)
- Design and develop the Central Messaging Platform leveraging Apache Kafka and its ecosystem to meet enterprise requirements
- Ensure the reliability and scalability of the solution by continuously monitoring and improving its architecture
- Collaborate across the organization to gather and consolidate requirements, integrating Kafka’s capabilities into development and deployment plans
- Develop prototypes utilizing Kafka ecosystem tools (e.g., Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry) and integrate user feedback
- Implement disaster recovery, security strategies, and automation for the solution
- Define and document development processes, standards, and solution architecture
- Provide internal technical support, including diagnostics and debugging, to ensure stable operations
- Share best practices and provide training on Kafka-based solutions
- Proven experience in software architecture and designing distributed systems using event-driven architecture
- Strong programming skills in Java, TypeScript, or Python, with experience in Git and cloud-native applications (preferably AWS)
- Deep knowledge of Apache Kafka and related tools (e.g., Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry)
- Experience with schemas (Avro, Protobuf, JSON) and asynchronous communication patterns
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience in monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Grafana Stack, Elastic Stack)
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in an international environment with English as the primary communication language
