Senior Test Automation Engineer (Java)

About the Project

Currently we are looking for Senior Test Automation Engineer with experience in Java who will join team working on projects from logistics industry. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining robust test scripts and strategies across a range of systems and components.

Work Mode: remote

Duration of the project: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Job Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and improve automated tests for both component-level and end-to-end system testing
• Collaborate closely with developers, QA teams, and product owners to ensure complete and effective test coverage
• Leverage a Gherkin-based testing framework to design and run automated test cases
• Develop and support testing strategies for data pipelines built on Kafka, verifying data integrity, message transformations, and enrichment processes
• Design and implement test scenarios for Java Spring Boot microservices, with emphasis on performance, scalability, and system reliability
• Diagnose and resolve issues in test environments and scripts to support continuous integration and testing
• Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA and automation engineers, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement

Expectations

• Min. 5 years of hands-on experience in test automation, including both component-level and end-to-end system testing
• Strong proficiency in Java for building and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
• Practical experience with BDD tools such as Cucumber, SpecFlow, or equivalents, using Gherkin syntax for test definitions
• In-depth understanding of Kafka-based systems, including message queues, topics, producers, and consumers
• Proven ability to test Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with automation tools like Playwright, RestAssured, or similar
• Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or others
• Solid working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases to support data validation and integrity checks
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (preferable Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Prior experience in Agile/Scrum environments
• English on an advanced level (written and spoken)
