Job description

The Senior IT Asset Consultant is responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle management of IT assets across both software and hardware domains. This role ensures governance, compliance, and optimization of IT asset operations, including licensing, lifecycle planning, vendor management, and data quality. The consultant acts as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for IT Asset Management (ITAM), providing strategic guidance, operational oversight, and consultancy to stakeholders across the organization.

 

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, deep knowledge of ITAM processes, and the ability to drive continuous improvement within IT service management tools. The consultant collaborates closely with functional leads, procurement teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure cost‑effective, compliant, and efficient asset management practices.

 

Start: ASAP

End: March 2027 with possibility of extension

Hybrid model (3 days in the office in Warsaw)

Expectations

  • Extensive experience in both Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM).

  • Strong background in IT procurement processes and vendor management.

  • Experience working with enterprise‑scale organizations and multicultural environments.

  • Hands‑on experience with CMDB processes and data governance.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Deep understanding of major software vendors’ licensing terms and policies.

  • Proficiency with ITAM and ITSM tools (ServiceNow SAM Pro required).

  • Advanced skills in PowerBI and MS Excel for reporting and analytics.

  • Ability to translate complex asset data into actionable insights.

  • Certifications: ITIL Foundation or higher

  • Certifications in ITAM/SAM/HAM (e.g., CSAM, CHAMP, CITAM) are a strong advantages

Tasks

Software Asset Management (SAM):

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of software assets, including requirements gathering, procurement, deployment, renewals, and retirement.

  • Maintain software asset records in ServiceNow SAM Pro

  • Ensure license compliance with major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, SAP, IBM).

  • Provide expert consultancy on software licensing models, terms, and optimization opportunities.

  • Review and approve software installation requests and non‑standard software demands.

  • Lead software spend analysis and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.


Hardware Asset Management (HAM):

  • Manage the lifecycle of hardware devices from procurement through replacement and disposal.

  • Maintain accurate hardware asset data in ServiceNow SAM Pro.

  • Oversee daily operational procurement of IT hardware and related services.

  • Ensure alignment with external hardware vendors (e.g., Dell, Markit, Jabra, SIMS).

  • Provide consultancy on hardware standards, device strategy, and vendor offerings.

  • Support hardware‑related renewals and compliance activities.


Vendor & Procurement Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with key software and hardware vendors.

  • Coordinate procurement processes to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery of IT assets.

  • Evaluate vendor offerings and market trends to support strategic decision‑making.

  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and contract management.


Governance, Compliance & Optimization:

  • Ensure data accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness across all IT asset domains.

  • Identify and drive service optimization initiatives across SAM and HAM.

  • Develop and refine ITAM processes, standards, and documentation.

  • Support cross‑functional projects by providing ITAM expertise and consultancy.

  • Act as escalation point for complex asset‑related issues
