How the Past Enables the Future

Our company was founded as a workshop for precision mechanics and optics by Carl Zeiss in 1846; this was the cornerstone of our global company. Twenty years later, he was joined by Ernst Abbe. Together with Otto Schott, ZEISS developed into a leading company in optics.
