Platform Engineering Solution Architect

We are seeking a Platform Engineering Solution Architect to design and evolve our internal platform capabilities, enabling engineering teams to deliver software faster, more reliably, and at scale.
The key goals for the Platform Engineering discipline and the solution are:

• Minimise the time used to build IT infrastructure for development projects.

• Standardise common tools.

• Provide self-service project teams.

• Build platform team and discipline.

• Build platform engineering community.

• Enable continuous development of platform engineering discipline, technical capabilities and tooling to support project work and re-usability of solutions.

• Meet growing regulation needs. Example ISO27001 and Secondary Use Act.

Responsibilities

• Building the core parts of the technical solution for the Platform Engineering discipline.

• Aligning the solution with existing infrastructure and technologies.

• Guiding the technical team and developing the solution hands-on.

• Evaluating and recommending tools, technologies, and processes to optimize platform performance and reliability.

• Implementing the cyber security control and ensuring architectural solutions comply with security policies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Platform Engineering achitecture onboarding for an organization within the last 3 years.

• Experience with technologies mentioned below:

• Red Hat OpenShift 

• GitLab 

• Red Hat developer hub or Spotify Backstage

• OpenTofu or Terraform experience

• Ansible experience

• CI/CD pipeline

• OpenBao or Hashicorp vault experience

• Prometheus experience

• Grafana experience

• Quay container image management

• SD-LAN experience

• Fluent English - both written and oral.
