We are looking for Senior Scala Developer to be a part of a broader team based in London working for a award-winning FinTech company. The developer would work on the back-end of an exciting, new and innovative product for collateral management and visualisation. The candidate is expected to work "Agile" on all technical aspects of the system – designing and developing new services and features, enhancements and new functionality, working with business owners, integrating new financial institutions, resolving issues and providing technical support.

The system is part of award-winning applications. It processes large amounts of data in real time, heavily utilising the latest technologies such as akka cluster, kafka and docker to build a scalable, fault tolerant, highly available processing engine that aggregates the data in real-time.

What you will do:
- Work with Product owners and clients to convert complex business problems into technical solutions
- Develop a strong working partnership with product owner and developers on the team.
- Develop innovative ways to efficiently reduce large datasets efficiently to be viewed on the UI
- Develop a clear understanding of business complexities specific to the Securities Lending / REPO / Equity Finance markets
- Help to ensure that client service is exceptional (e.g. by making data integration easy, understanding client issues)
- Proactively interact with colleagues – requesting and providing guidance, help and mentoring as appropriate
About you:
- Takes full ownership of own work, actively resolve issues and drive to deliver
- Able to work as part of a co-located cross functional team of technologists and business experts
- 5+ years software development experience
- 2+ year experience in Scala, Akka, Kafka, Docker and MySQL
- hands on CI/CD experience
- Knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling
- Unix/Linux Experience
- Experience with designing and delivering new services and significant functionality changes
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely in English with other technologists and business partners.
- Open to discussing ideas with others
- Willing to learn
It would be nice if you already have:
- Experience in use of various tools – Jira, CVS, Phabricator, Confluence, Jenkins, Git
- Knowledge of Securities Lending/ other financial product domain
