Role & Responsibilities

Work with project teams for activities such as new server build, OS upgrades, migrations etc.
Identify automation use cases.
Automation of tasks using Shell / Perl /Ansible scripting.
Knowledge of Cloud technologies like AWS/Azure/GCP etc.
Ensure proper communication and quick resolution as a crisis manager
Timely escalation to management
Plan and schedule Changes coordinating with different stakeholders.
Perform Service Requests based on Standard Operating Procedures.
Service incidents and queries within the agreed service levels.
Follow quality / security process defined for the engagement.
Perform Trend analysis, identify top call drivers and work with respective teams/individual to minimize the incidents.
Hardware troubleshooting & Vendor coordination
Work on the service improvement programs.
Risk identification and mitigation.
Effort estimation/reviews on need basis for new projects.

Technical Primary Skills

Experience and Expert in Linux Administration (RHEL, CentOS, Suse and Oracle Linux)
Experience and Expert in LVM
Experience in network administration.
Patch and User management
NFS / Automount configuration
Recovery of Operating system from backup
Server / OS Crash analysis.
Performance tuning / OS hardening
Experience in Satellite server Management and configuration
Experience and knowledge in Dell, HP Hardware
Knowledge and experience of Dell and HP servers Firmware upgrade
Advanced ansible /shell scripting
Configuration of RedHat Cluster / Veritas Cluster
Knowledge in NIS, NIS+/LDAP/Active Directory/ DNS configuration

Technical Secondary Skills

Administration, managing and troubleshooting Azure VMs running in Linux environment.
Good knowledge on azure IaaS services – (Virtual Machines, Virtual Network, Recovery Vault, VPN Gateway, Storage, Load Balancer)
Good knowledge on azure PaaS services – (App Services, Application Gateway, Redis cache, PaaS DB, Log Analytics, Azure functions, Azure Logic apps)
Knowledge on patching of AIX/Solaris/HP Unix servers
Knowledge on server installation, configuration, and Administration
Knowledge on LVM administration
Ansible scripting and maintenance of playbooks
Knowledge and Configuration of SVM, VxVM & ZFS
Advanced shell scripting
Knowledge in other domains such as Storage, Azure native Backup, Database, Middleware and network.
