    About the position

    We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will design, build and maintain a central data platform that ensures efficient data processing and accessibility for a global insurance company. Your contributions will be pivotal in enhancing our data infrastructure and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

    Goals and responsibilities

    • Design and implement scalable, high-performance data platform to support diverse data needs for global enterprise 
    • Ensure fulfillment of performance, cost optimization, data protection, IT security and scalability
    • Meet with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and BI Developers to understand requirements fully and navigate to best long term solutions
    • Resolve incidents
    • DevOps mindset - you build it, you run it :) 


    Hard skills we’re looking for

    • Expertise in data resources  within cloud platforms (Azure preferred - Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Fabric etc.)
    • Proficient in Python (Spark oriented), SQL and PowerShell/Bash
    • Design and implementation of CICD pipelines and IaC
    • Deep understanding of modern concepts in data Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Data Vault etc.
    • DevQAOps mindset (to built, to assure, to own it)
    • Knowledge of architecture and engineering design patterns best practices
    • Ability to cooperate efficiently with clients and different departments as well as willingness to support new team members
    • International project experience and consulting experience desirable
    • Willingness to learn new technologies and approaches


    Soft skills

    • Fluent English is mandatory
    • Competence to manage tasks, problem solving
    • Ability to explore new paths 
    • Hands-on mentality and capability to work independently on tasks
    • Experience working in an agile environment
    • Capability of result oriented communication with people from different departments with different skill sets
    • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and tools
