Senior Backend Engineer

At Viio, we're on a mission to redefine how businesses plan, manage and optimize their software investments. Our product provides 360-degree visibility into all their SaaS and cloud vendors, offers intelligent recommendations for license and contract optimization, and helps companies save up to 30% of their annual spend. Having just raised a €3.3 million seed investment round, we're expanding our team and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join us on this exciting journey.

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Viio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our platform's backend architecture and integrations. You'll be working with a modern tech stack including C#, GraphQL, Kafka and various NoSQL databases, handling data for hundreds of thousands of employees and processing millions of data points daily. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend services and third-party API integrations. You will collaborate closely with our talented engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Integrate with 3rd Party APIs: Design, develop, and maintain integrations with various third-party APIs to enhance our platform's capabilities.
• Optimize and Support Current Integrations: Continuously monitor and improve the performance of existing integrations, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
• Design and Implement Backend Services: Architect, develop, and deploy robust backend services that can handle our growing user base and data volume.
• Maintain Existing Services: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing backend services, ensuring they remain secure, efficient, and up-to-date.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and communicate effectively with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

Who you are:

• You have at least 5 years of experience in building distributed services, with a strong understanding of scalable and reliable backend systems.
• You possess strong knowledge of C# and hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (particularly MongoDB and Cassandra).
• You understand and implement DevOps methodologies, with experience in CI/CD pipelines, IaC and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• You stay updated with industry trends and are eager to learn new skills. Knowledge of GraphQL and Kafka is a plus.
• You have a keen eye for detail and maintain high standards in your work.
• You have excellent problem-solving skills and can debug complex issues efficiently.
• You have strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
