Job description
The fun stuff you’ll be doing:
- Designing and implementing solutions to challenging problems
- Validating new start-up ideas through proof of concepts and prototypes
- Consulting Founders on pros and cons of specific technologies
- Evaluating and learning new emerging technologies
- Exploring new trends in your domain and deepening your knowledge
- Coaching and educating others in your fields of expertise
- Analysing complex problems to understand assumptions, find patterns and communicate them to the rest of the team
- Presenting and talking about your work at conferences if you’re into that type of things
- Taking responsibility and looking for viable for solutions rather than blaming others
What we need and what you should have or pretend to have until we figure out we were played:
- Fluency in one or more programming languages
- Strong problem solving skills
- You think of yourself more as a generalist, a hacker rather than a specialist
- Ability to deal with the ambiguity of early-stage of new opportunities and the flexibility to change direction as additional information becomes available
- Fail fast, fail often, learn from failures attitude to find a working solution
- Solid knowledge in one of these domains: Machine Learning, GIS & geometric algorithms, data analysis and visualisation. And a will to teach others
- General familiarity with Agile Dev Environment, MVPs, Lean, Kanban
- An understanding of Heroku, Github, code reviews and error tracking software (we use Rollbar)
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication
