By joining Tidio as a Data Engineering Lead, you will spearhead 4 people team. Your main responsibility will be to help the team deliver the highest value by supporting in tech-decision-making process.

As a Data Engineering Lead you will:

  • Manage the team of data engineers, support their growth and assist their day-to-day work
  • Help develop your team members by building their career plans, setting goals, following up on them with regular and thoughtful feedback
  • Facilitate overall data technology strategy, quarterly, and yearly goals, drive engineering best practices and take ownership of delivering on core outcomes.
  • Evaluate resource costs, determine the composition of the required team, top-level roadmap, and perform a project risk assessment.
  • Lead development of the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using AWS, Docker, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL
  • Lead the architecture design and implementation of scalable data processing systems. Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Create in-house or implement available data tools for analysts and data scientists team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product and business processes into an innovative industry leader.

You are a perfect fit if you have:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a leader in any area (people & performance management) with a passion for people development (1:1 meetings; career mentorship)
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role 
  • Solid understanding of Data Governance, Data Security, Data Cataloguing, and Data Lineage concepts
  • Hands-on experience in architecting, designing, building, and delivering complex data projects (data pipelines, architectures, datasets) to solve problems at scale in an optimal way
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • Experience using the following software/tools:
    • Familiarity with any of DWH modeling styles (Data Vault, Kimball, or others)
    • Cloud-based warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
    • Setting up and maintaining data flows with Airflow (or any other software of this type, e.g. Luigi, Prefect)
    • Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Sound working Python and SQL knowledge

You will get extra points for experience with: DataOps; AWS - S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift; dbt; Snowflake
