We are looking for a Test Engineer who is a self-starter, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of testing across data projects. You will do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with talented colleagues who will help you to learn, develop and grow. Test Engineers undertake testing to deliver risk assessed and performant data solutions to Technicus and its clients.

Your responsibilities:

• Planning and executing testing with effective use of data, tools and techniques
• Applying test standards to ensure fit for purpose and safe solution (e.g. through Behaviour-Driven Development, Automation, Performance testing or data reconciliation)
• Focus on quality to minimise defect remediation activity and enable efficient reuse for future developments
• Taking responsibility for the production & sign-off of all test deliverables and achievement of test milestones through change lifecycle
• Technical decisions and advice during the change lifecycle, including proactive quality/governance assessments within own area and across lifecycle
• Work with respective project delivery team to address any test issues or risks to a successful conclusion
• Developing SQL to generate, manipulate and/or interrogate data
• Validating data cleansing to ensure adherence to quality criteria
• Support the Data Engineers in developing high quality flows for automating processes

Our requirements:

• Experience of working on multiple projects as a Test Engineer & generating, reconciling data across multiple platforms
• Experience of working with complex data models and testing ETL/Data integration processes
• Experience of working with production data
• Advanced SQL skills 
• BSc Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience of working with clients is beneficial
• Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and able to work well within a team and independently
• Good communication skills – business-facing and able to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of stakeholders through the appropriate medium
• Structured problem-solving – able to understand the problem and break it down to find the solution
• Detail-oriented – has an attention to the fine detail
• Generating, understanding and reconciling data
