Client: Systematic A/S, an international IT company.


The scope of the project: We’re looking for a Solution Architect to support the business unit “C-EUR” in multiple international projects located all over central and East Europe.


Responsibilities:

▪ Install SitaWare Suite products in customer locations.

▪ Advice and support industry partners with technical questions.

▪ Support industry partners with the integration of other systems, devices and sensors into the SitaWare Suite by using our SDK.

▪ Consulting on and designing of interfaces between systems using NATO interoperability standards.

▪ Supporting military exercises and participation in NATO conferences and events (e. g. CWIX).

▪ Contribute to the overall system architecture and technical concepts affected by our Products.

▪ Participate in technical workshops with industry partners and customers.

▪ Setup of test and training environments.

▪ Help our test manager in planning and executing system tests.

▪ Troubleshoot technical problems with the Battle Management System (BMS).

▪ Conduct technical training for administrators.

▪ Support the project management while following internal processes and documentation.

▪ Be responsible for subproject budgets, plan and delegate technical tasks.

▪ Support the Business Development and further sales within the projects.

▪ Plan complex system integrations including multiple legacy systems, communication infrastructure and devices (e. g. like laser range finders).

▪ Create estimations for development tasks.

▪ Write the technical parts of English proposals for potential future projects.

▪ Have overall responsibility for Systematic’s part of the technical solution while supporting the customer’s team in designing the overall solution


The team supports projects in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Slovakia and Georgia. Thusly, international travel of up to 50% is required.

General requirements:

This is a permanent position covering multiple projects. We are looking for candidates with a technical education and work experience in similar roles. Candidates should be familiar with the military domain. Having served in the Polish Army will be a strong advantage.


Requirements Solution Architect:

Technical skills

▪ Technical education (must have)

▪ Master’s degree (beneficial)

▪High level of expertise with Linux OS, Docker and Kubernetes (must have)

▪ Software architecture, design patterns and frameworks (e. g. ISAQB, TOGAF, NATO Architecture Framework) (must have)

▪ Experience in Solution Architecture involving multiple software components, infrastructure and hardware integration utilizing various protocols and interface technologies. (must have)

▪ Modeling languages like UML, ERM, DFD (must have)

▪ Interface technologies (e. g. REST, SOAP, working with APIs)

▪ Experience with technologies such as Java, Angular, C# and .NET

▪ Windows know-how, including Active Directory, PowerShell, etc.

▪ Networking technologies

▪ Experience with hardware (network infrastructure, server, radios)

▪ Software testing (creating a test plan, designing test cases, executing acceptance tests with customer participation, documenting test results)

▪ Requirement management (tracking customer requirements, documentation, deriving system requirements, transferring requirements into a solution architecture)

▪ Experience with: RKE2, Grafana, Prometheus, Rook Ceph (beneficial)

▪ Scrum or other agile frameworks


Soft skills

▪ Confidence to conduct trainings in a classroom environment in front of up to 20 people

▪ Analytical mindset for requirements analysis and troubleshooting

▪ “Hands-on” attitude in an IT context (e. g. setting up training environments, deploying software inside tanks and other military vehicles, cabling in a test environment)

▪ Good presentation skills, presenting and possibly defending work results adjusted to the target audience 

▪ Communication skills in order to inform, coordinate, motivate and align different stakeholders (development teams, other internal departments, customers, operative end users, third parties etc.)

▪ Structured and systematic way of working by utilizing adequate methods, frameworks, templates, best practices, etc.

▪ High self-organization, proactive pursuing and tracking of tasks without the need of being micro-managed

▪ Taking over responsibility of complex solutions

▪ Organizing and conducting structured workshops resulting in documented work results (e.g. requirements collection, concept creation)

▪ Customer orientation, constantly striving for the best possible solution

▪ Good attention to detail and quality-focused way of working


Other

▪ Military background (e.g. veteran of the Polish Land Forces or having worked in the Defence domain previously)

▪ No expected issues with getting security clearance in Poland

▪ Fluent in English including writing complex technical documents in English (must have)

▪ Experience in writing proposals

▪ Willingness to travel internationally (must have)

Security clearance: We’re working with a highly fragile piece of software and all employees working on the project must obtain security clearance from the authorities of the country in which they are employed. (Handled by the client organization). If the applicant is not a citizen in a Nordic or a NATO country, or have lived in such a country for the past 7 years, it must be noted that a security clearance may be impossible to obtain, as the authorities of the applicant's home country might be unable to conduct the necessary investigation of the person. In these cases work on the project will therefore not be possible.
