We are looking for a motivated SecOps Engineer, who will make our core products more secure by protecting system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and securing highly sensitive data. Qualified candidates will have a background in security or cloud systems engineering (preferably with AWS).
Responsibilities
- Assist in day to day security operations activities that include:
- log monitoring,
- incident response,
- user account and access management,
- security systems report analysis
- Support the implementation and operation of security controls to meet Syncron information security policy mandates including:
- audit of access permissions
- implementation of cloud policies
- taking part in internal security audits
- assist with external security audits
- Advocate information security awareness within the organization by:
- provide security training and security guidance for users
- answer users security questions
- documentation and how to's of users security tools
- Identify changes in threat scenarios vis-à-vis protected information resources and support the implementation of preventive and detective measures
- continuously stay up to date regarding new security threats
- follow market trends and where it makes sense adopt new security tools
- Ensure the follow-up and when required to take appropriate measures further to reported security incidents
Skills and experience
- Experience with AWS security services and best practices
- Familiarity with Python, Go and/or other scripting/coding languages
- Experience with infrastructure as a code tools (Terraform preferred)
• Familiarity with working with APIs and coding to integrate data from different security controls
• Familiarity with various compliance frameworks such as ISO27001, SOC1, SOC2, GDPR among others.
• Possess strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Solution driven with ability to understand the big picture.
