Team Overview
The System Libraries Team is focused on building the framework that powers backend microservices at Sumo Logic - all the bits that make it easy to write and manage microservices at scale. This team engages with and impacts all of Sumo Engineering.
What you’ll be working on:
- Research and integrate open source a service mesh, migrating away from Sumo Logic’s internal implementation.
- Optimize and modernize Sumo Logic’s proprietary dynamic workload sharding framework (named p10g) to ensure scalability.
- Enable polyglot service integrations for past and future acquisitions.
- Develop solutions for detecting service failures and automating remediation.
Your experience and skills include:
- B.S. or higher in Computer Sciences or related discipline
- 5+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of ownership and delivery
- Ability to code proficiently in Python or another mainstream programming language (Java, Go, Scala).
- Experience with data serialization frameworks such as AVRO and/or GRPC.
- Familiarity with Service Mesh solutions
- Experience in running large scalable distributed services following a microservice architecture
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise wide solutions based on Java Technologies (Java, J2EE, Web Services)
- Experience with cloud native environments built on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrated implementation of high-availability concepts
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
