Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer to join for an initial 6 months contract with possibility to extend. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming, a deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, and hands-on experience with various Java frameworks and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Implement and manage Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate web development frameworks like Angular or React.
• Manage and utilize distributed storage systems including DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Git, to ensure smooth and efficient deployment processes.
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
• Work within Unix/Linux environments to develop, deploy, and manage applications.

Required skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Java programming with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Familiarity with web development frameworks like Angular or React.
• Proficiency in working with distributed storage systems like DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Experience in developing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, particularly using Git.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to software development.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Between 5-10 years of relevant work experience in Java development, preferably in a similar role.

Please note that this role requires working from the office 3 days a week.
