Job purpose:
Observability Engineer to design, implement, operate, and support technologies, systems and tools to advance out next generation Observability Platform
General Duties:
- Keep up to date with recent technologies in the Observability area
- Perform pilot implementations of services
- Consult with other technology teams on Observability
- Implement production ready enterprise grade services for Observability
- Perform ahead-of-time capacity planning
- Keep up-to-date customer and service level documentation
- Provide training for wider IT Department
- Provide operation production support for Observability services
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven history (3+ years) of implementation, configuration, and support of a modern Development platform tool chain
- Good working knowledge of Observability technologies, such as InfluxDB, Jaeger, Prometheus, ELK.
- Use of programming languages (e.g. Python, Perl) to create production-grade APIs and integrations
- Working knowledge of Linux environment
Qualification and Skills:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Forward thinking, self-starter, able to work independently
- Willingness to learn and adopt to new technologies
- University / College bachelor level (or equivalent) degree
