About the Project:

Join us at Stepwise, a Warsaw-based Software House deeply rooted in engineering excellence. We're currently scaling a dynamic team for an exciting project: a green-field digital insights platform for the U.S.-based client in the Market Research industry powered by AI features. 

Tech Stack of the project: 

• Backend: Kotlin, Spring Boot, Postgres, MongoDB, GitHub Actions, Confluent Kafka, Kafka Streams, Auth0, Redis, Gradle, Redocly
• Testing: Kotest, Junit or similar, the rest is still to be decided
• Infrastructure: GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), Helm, Docker
• Architecture: Hexagonal architecture (DDD)
• Methodology: Scrum, Kanban

The Role:

This is a special opportunity for a Senior QA Engineer who not only brings a strong QA technical background, but also practical experience in building and implementing QA strategy for complex digital platforms. In other words, we are looking for a person who has had real exposure to writing automated tests and E2E in his career, worked with the development team hand in hand, and then through evolution developed his process and managerial skills. 

Requirements:

• Practical knowledge in creating automated tests and E2E especially in platforms centered around API first solutions 
• Practical knowledge in creating QA strategy and test pyramid for digital platforms
• Practical knowledge in creating QA process in 10+ members projects
• Soft skills in collaboration with DEV and Stakeholder team
• Understand the main project technologies (see below)
• Understand digital products architecture
• Understand cloud technologies
• Understand databases
• Understand how OpenAPI, Rest APIs work
• Understand how events work

Responsibilities:

• Build and implement test strategy
• Build the test pyramid together with the development team
• Build a QA culture in the project 
• Coaching and supporting Developers on how to create tests and take care of the quality of the whole platform
• Building a test acceptance process
• Day-to-day collaboration with Product Owner, Scrum Master and Business Analyst
• Providing feedback, substantive support and direction to the newly formed QA team
• Standing up for the DoD
• Suggesting new frameworks in individual platform components (e.g., in the AI part)
• Detecting potential quality risks and proposing solutions working with the DEV team
