Purpose
Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) has adopted a new class of technology as a solution to address business needs and support continuous improvement. Intelligent Automation Solutions (IAS), currently consisting of Rapid (aka Robotic) Process Automation (RPA), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a component of Intelligent Automation Solutions (IAS) to enable digital operations & activities at SBD. The strategy for IAS is to mature a Center of Excellence (CoE), to centralize key functions, standardize and optimize processes, scale automation and technology within the organization, strengthen governance, and achieve the global long-term vision.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Leverage process improvement experience to streamline and optimize process for automation
  • Create and maintain automation solution, and technical and training documentation
  • Develop and configure process automations to meet defined requirements. Comply with and help to enforce design and coding standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure quality of coded components by performing thorough testing
  • Develop scalable and efficient process automations with reusable components that can be leveraged across different automation deployments
  • Provide constructive feedback to ensure quality of code
  • Create and document test procedures and scenarios prior to launching User Acceptance Testing (“UAT”)
  • Support existing processes and implementing change requirements as part of a structured change control process
  • Problem-solve issues that arise in day-to-day running of automation processes and provide timely responses and solutions as required
  • Support daily administration of the production environment (running processes, maintaining resource virtual machines, viewing logs etc.)
  • Investigate any issues in the production environment, and raise change requests or support calls with IT where required
  • Support software release and upgrade of third-party robotic process automation software and tools
  • Communicate any identified and potential risks and issues IAS Leadership accordingly and provide actionable inputs to mitigate
  • Support alignment of IAS COE with IT for technical support and software need for new automation solutions, or upstream changes to infrastructure and applications impacting existing solutions
  • Support measurement of program quality and efficiency
  • Adhere to IT Information Security protocol (e.g., policies and procedures, disaster recovery, business continuity) and supports Audit activities as needed
 
Requirements:
  • Relevant Higher Degree desired (Finance, Accounting, IT, Business) or equivalent through experience
  • 2-3 years of automation delivery or other relevant experience
  • Experience in IA with one of the market leading RPA platforms: Automation Anywhere, WorkFusion, BluePrism and/or UIPath
  • Programming experience (.NET, Java, ETL etc.)
  • Advantage: process design and process improvement experience
  • Desired: programmer and/or analyst experience in supply chain, finance, administrative processes, systems or applications
  • Strong English language - great verbal and written communication, other EU languages are an advantage, ability to present
  • Experience with activities and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities, benefits, risks of potential applications.
  • Ability to manage key technology supplier relationships
  • Advantage: experience with formal quality systems, such as Lean and Six Sigma
