Project:
We are a leading organization in the realm of innersource and open-source projects, promoting collaboration, innovation, and sharing of knowledge across our communities. As part of our commitment to harnessing the power of data, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analytics Engineer. This role will play a pivotal part in organizing and structuring data related to innersource & open-source projects on Git platforms, such as GitLab/Github, into a robust backend solution. The engineered backend will be utilized via APIs to support various publications, including web apps, websites, innersource project explorers, and annual "State of Innersource & Open Source" reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience in Kotlin, Scripting and Swagger API for developing and documenting APIs.
- Proficiency in API development and management.
- Understanding of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Experience with cloud technologies, preferably in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data privacy regulations.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare WAF is a plus.
- Ability to translate algorithms into functional code for data analysis.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- A passion for open-source technologies and active participation in the open-source community is highly desired.
Role Responsibilities include:
- Data Organization and Structuring: Design and implement data models, schemas, and structures for organizing innersource & open-source project data on Git platforms to facilitate efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Backend Development: Develop backend solutions that will serve as the foundation for our API-driven data consumption across a wide array of publications and applications.
- API Development: Create robust and user-friendly APIs to enable seamless access to data for various stakeholders, including compliance engineers, full-stack developers, and technical evangelists.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with ISPO/OSPO compliance engineers, full-stack developers, and technical evangelists to understand data requirements and ensure smooth integration with existing systems.
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code: Utilize CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles to ensure smooth and efficient deployment of backend solutions.
- Cloud Technologies: Leverage cloud technologies to build scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Cybersecurity: Implement best practices in cybersecurity to safeguard sensitive data and maintain data privacy and compliance.
- Cloudflare WAF (Web Application Firewall): Having experience with Cloudflare WAF will be a significant advantage in safeguarding our data and applications from potential security threats.
- Algorithm Translation: Translate algorithms into functional code to enhance data analysis capabilities and improve data-driven decision-making processes.
- "State of Innersource & Open Source" Reports: Play a key role in populating our annual reports with accurate, up-to-date, and insightful data.
- Presentation Skills: Demonstrate excellent presentation skills to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for Open Source: Showcase a genuine interest in open-source technologies and contribute actively to the open-source community.
