In this role you will be responsible for developing and supporting client applications for new and existing software projects within Swiss Post Solutions organisation, working from SPS’s Gdańsk office (or remote) and collaborating with teams from other SPS countries.
The applications are wide-scoped surrounding document composition tools and methods as well as information and documents processing and automation. The technology stack is Java based with variety of market-specific tools to work with, such as Compart, GMC, DOC1 or PreS.
In this role you will be required to work with such tools, as well as programming around them. The role is offsite based but it will involve occasional travel to other SPS offices (UK, Germany, Switzerland) for face to face meetings.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Preferably a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or similar programs; or comparable qualifications/certifications with practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with applications development.
- Good knowledge of input/output data streams including AFP, PDF, PostScript, CSV, XML, Meta-code, HTML and other bespoke formats
- Good knowledge of Python, Java, JavaScript
- Good practical knowledge of databases: SQL and NoSQL
- Practical knowledge of version control tools: GitLab, GitHub
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Very preferable knowledge of Compart as the document composition tool
- Nice to have knowledge of some other document composition tools: GMC (v14 or above), DOC1 (v5.x and above, Engage), PreS (v6.0 and above)
- General knowledge of electronic delivery
- Output Management, Emtex v3.2 including VDE scripting
- Understanding of automated workflow, RPD Ricoh Process Director, DASV (Windows based)
