SpotOn is a cutting-edge software company dedicated to redefining the merchant services industry. SpotOn combines payment processing with customer engagement and business management solutions, giving small and medium businesses the data and tools they need to run and grow their business. Our tools increase revenue and connect businesses with their customers using rewards, deals, online reviews, website building, and data analytics. Tools like these were previously only available to big businesses with big bankrolls and their own developers, but our platform caters to neighborhood stores, independent retailers, and other small to midsize businesses. We have our service deployed in many cities across the U.S. and Mexico.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Create and maintain Cloud Infrastructure with an Infrastructure as Code approach
- Create and maintain central services and tools for product teams to successfully run their applications
- Help development teams create and maintain CI/CD processes to automatic builds and deployments
- Mentor and train other engineers
- Participate in on-call activities as needed or assigned
- Support and educate product development teams
- Seek continual improvement in business and technical processes
What skill are we searching for?
- Strong programming fundamentals (Python, Golang, or similar)
- Infrastructure as code experience (Terraform preferred)
- Strong AWS knowledge
- Experience building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Delivery Pipelines
- Experience building and running production workloads in Kubernetes and Docker
- At least 2 years working with DevOps methodologies
- At least 2 years working, supporting, and building web applications
- At least 1 year of supporting production systems in the cloud
- Strong independent troubleshooting skills
- Self-driven and takes pride in doing things well
- Strong communication skills to work with and support product development teams
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (min. B2 level)
Perfect candidate also has:
- Experience in writing and/or supporting Django, Flask, or similar web frameworks
- Solid understanding of GitOps
- Solid understanding of serverless applications
- Deep understanding of the CNCF landscape including Kubernetes, Helm, Helmfile, etc.
- Experience with DataDog
- Experience with OpsGenie
- Experience with Codefresh.io
- Compliance and Auditing experience (PCI, SOC2)
- Security research experience (application, infrastructure, pen testing, etc.)
